Leadership team includes top experts in aerospace, operations, finance and regulatory compliance
Space Ocean, a pioneering space logistics company, today announced the formation of its new Board of Directors and Advisory Board. These appointments bring decades of experience across aerospace, operations, finance, compliance and advanced technologies, further solidifying the company’s path to scale.
“With this board, we’re assembling the operational and strategic muscle to launch the infrastructure backbone for the future space economy,” said Paul S. Mamakos, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Space Ocean. “These leaders know how to build real systems that operate far from Earth and turn vision into execution.”
Dr. Alberto Vasquez-Marquez, appointed Chairman of the Board, is a veteran entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience in business optimization, logistics and advanced production systems. “I am honored to be leading a board focused on solving one of the most critical challenges in space: resource logistics. Space Ocean is laying the foundation for a sustainable, scalable off-Earth economy, and I’m excited to help guide it forward.” Said Vasquez-Marquez.
Pete Freeland, President of Space Ocean, joins the board with 35+ years of experience in the design, integration and testing of human-rated spacecraft, research vehicles and commercial/military satellites. “Space Ocean is developing the logistics technology the space industry has been waiting for. We’re not just building spacecraft; we’re building the systems that will enable human and commercial activity far beyond low Earth orbit.” said Freeland.
The board also includes Cliff Silver, Chief Financial Officer of Space Ocean, with 20+ years in financial leadership at Sony Music Entertainment, where he oversaw financial strategy and operations for RCA Records. He brings operational discipline and growth expertise to Space Ocean’s capital-intensive mission.
Tri Caodo, Director of SETA and Digital Transformation of Space Ocean, Senior Principal Systems Engineer, brings more than 25 years of experience supporting U.S. military aerospace programs, with deep knowledge in complex systems engineering and acquisition.
Correen Wood, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Space Ocean, adds 20+ years of experience in aerospace and defense regulatory compliance, global trade and ethics, ensuring the company’s operations align with international legal frameworks.
Ural T. Thompson III, Chief Operating Officer of Space Ocean, brings over two decades of strategic leadership from the U.S. Navy and private sector, including international operations and division creation.

- Pravin Aggarwal, a former NASA and Dynetics engineer, brings 30+ years in spacecraft systems engineering and mission assurance.
- Dr. Damon Bradley, Chief Scientist of Space Ocean and former NASA technologist, leads efforts in science instrumentation, signal processing and AI/ML applications.
- Dr. Brian Haw, Data & Cybersecurity Division Director of Space Ocean, brings over 25+ years data experience and is a visionary with a proven track record in large-scale IT infrastructure and data center operations.
- Gregory C. Knutson, Chief Business Development Officer of Space Ocean, offers 25+ years of aerospace and defense business development experience.
- Jayme Ringerman, has extensive experience in IT transformation, cloud migrations, and marketing operations platforms in roles like Senior Project Manager at BrandMaker and Executive Program Manager at Teradata.
- Kathi Wright, Chief Marketing Officer of Space Ocean, brings over 20 years of strategic marketing leadership, including roles at Microsoft and Wells Fargo.
