Diego Vasquez, Geologist/ Geographer

Diego Vasquez earned his Bachelor of Science in Geology with a minor in Environmental Engineering and a second minor in Public Health as well as a Master of Science in Geology from the University of Rochester. His research was focused on groundwater geochemistry as well as cosmochemistry, including the examination of meteorites and evaluation of the transport mechanisms and retention of extraterrestrial gases and compounds. With implications including the assessment of the environmental consequences of meteor and comet impacts.

He also earned a Master of Science in Geospatial Information Science and Technology from the University of Southern California. His research was focused on Geostatistics for geological characterization, modeling, and simulation. Technical abilities include laboratory analyses, generation of cross-sections and models for data evaluation and interpretation including remote sensing.

His intensive experience with data visualization and analytics has provided him with applied practice in hydrology, mining, and petroleum engineering. Additionally, his field experience includes drilling, logging, surveying, mapping, and infrastructure installation for oil, gas, water and mineral exploration and extraction.

He is a duly certified California Geologist-in-Training with a keen interest to pursue greater knowledge of planetary science. Diego also has experience participating in international projects and he is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.
